Acta Cosmica began with a simple conviction: that the most important stories of our time — about the planet, its species, and the people trying to understand both — deserve to be told with rigor and beauty in equal measure. We are a newsroom of reporters, photographers, and scientists who believe careful attention is itself a form of respect.
What we do
We publish original reporting across science, wildlife, environment, history, travel, and culture. Our work ranges from breaking research to years-long photo essays, and every piece is held to the same standard: is it true, is it clear, and does it help a reader see the world more precisely than they did before.
"We measure our success not in clicks, but in whether a story was worth the reader's time — and our own."
Independence is the ground we stand on. Acta Cosmica is reader-funded, and our reporting is free of the commercial pressures that shape so much of the media landscape. That independence is what lets us spend a season on a single expedition, or hold a story until the science is settled.
